The Duchess of Sussex visited the Project Fearless initiative in Amsterdam in April while in the Netherlands for the Invictus Games

Meghan Markle was pictured visiting the Project Fearless initiative in Amsterdam in April this year, while in the Netherlands for the Invictus Games.

The Dutch non-profit organisation on Monday showed Meghan hugging a beaming young participant, who cheered with her hand in the air in a team photo with the youngsters.

The Duchess of Sussex was captured sitting cross-legged in a discussion circle, then standing by a whiteboard with members of the group.

In a statement released by Archewell, Meghan said: "Safe, supportive spaces like Project Fearless allow girls the opportunity to express themselves, build each other up, gain resilience and tackle new challenges.”

The aim of Project Fearless is to provide girls and non-binary young people aged nine to 14 with the tools to succeed through after-school courses, including, among others, on climate science, skateboarding, kickboxing and entrepreneurship.

Meghan sported an elegant sand-coloured silk blazer from Chloé which cost just over £2,500. Accompanying her outfit, she wore a Cartier "Juste un Clou" necklace which costs an eye-watering £13,100.

The project announced how Meghan's visit aligned with its third birthday celebrations, describing how the Duchess of Sussex aided students with their business pitches and "enthusiastically" participated in a group exercise on facing fears in life.

Their statement said: "Earlier this year, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, joined our first entrepreneurship course as a guest coach.

“During her visit, she gave the girls inspiring and encouraging feedback on their sustainable business pitches, and enthusiastically joined in with a group exercise on facing fears.”

Founder of Project Fearless, Merida Miller said: "The Duchess’ visit was a brilliant way to celebrate the impact Project Fearless has made over the last three years, introducing the girls to an accessible role model who is making a difference and using her voice.”

Meghan was in the Netherlands in April, accompanying her husband Prince Harry at his Invictus Games 2022.

The competition, founded by Prince Harry, were first held in 2014, for injured and sick servicemen and women, both for serving and veterans.

Meghan has been a vocal advocate for women's rights in recent years, accepting her appointment as United Nations Women's Advocate for Women's Political Participation and Leadership in 2015.

Marking Women's History Month, Meghan and Harry awarded grants through their Archewell foundation to four organisation advocating for gender equality.
