Meghan Markle could have “played the victim and gone on Oprah” had Buckingham Palace published the findings of a report into allegations of bullying, a royal editor has claimed.
Buckingham Palace launched an investigation following claims that Ms Markle bullied members of royal staff.
But following the end of the probe, Buckingham Palace opted against publishing the findings.
And royal editor and author Duncan Larcombe believes the royals decided to hold back the report so they “can avoid war” with the Sussexes.

Mr Larcombe told True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat: "I think the reason they are not publishing any of this is that the Palace is running scared of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
"I think they know that if they publish the report, the next thing that will happen potentially is for Harry and Meghan to play the victim and go on Oprah [Winfrey].
“This is an olive branch or an avoidance of war.”
His comments come after Meghan and Harry were pictured visiting Oprah’s mansion in Montecito, California last month.
The pair have previously sat down for a wide-ranging interview with Ms Winfrey, where they made allegations of racism against an unnamed member of the Royal Family.
After making the five-minute journey from home, the trio reportedly spent an hour at Oprah’s house, according to the Daily Mail.
