Despite the severity of the attack, medical staff have determined that the victim's wounds are neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
Police have yet to confirm the injured man’s identity amid speculation he may have been an opponent of the Islamic regime in Tehran.
Detectives have clarified the suspect currently being held is believed to have struck the victim with a bottle rather than carrying out the stabbing itself.
The search for the individual responsible for the knife attack remains ongoing, with officers conducting urgent enquiries to track down others involved in the assault.

Examinations of the scene are still underway by forensic experts.
Authorities have warned local residents to expect a heightened police presence throughout the West Finchley area as the investigation progresses.
Officers have implemented a dispersal order covering the vicinity, granting them powers to direct individuals away from the area if their conduct could contribute to harassment, disorder or criminal activity.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman stated: "We urge people to not speculate while officers work at pace to understand the circumstances around this incident."

Anahit Hosseini, an anti-regime protestor attending a protest last week, told GB News she did not "feel safe" in Britain.
"It's more important than ever for Iranian British citizens to show their solidarity and support for Iranians who are fighting for freedom and democracy," she said.
"From the perspective of a lot of British-Iranian citizens, they have been very disappointed with how the UK Government has reacted to this."
"Especially the Labour Party has been largely silent about it," she added, draped in a flag of the old Iranian monarchy.
