London synagogue targeted in attempted firebomb attack just weeks after Jewish ambulances torched

The Metropolitan Police has launched an investigation following an attempted arson attack on a synagogue in Finchley, north London.
Two suspects, wearing dark clothes and balaclavas, approached the synagogue on Fallow Court Avenue shortly after midnight.
The incident is being treated as an antisemitic hate crime.
The suspects threw bottles, thought to contain petrol, as well as a brick at the building.

Neither of the bottles ignited and no damage was reported, with no one being injured in the attack either.
The attack was reported to police early this morning.
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams said: "We are aware of the significant concern that this incident will cause in the community, particularly in the wake of the arson attack in Golders Green last month.
"We are working with the affected synagogue and continuing to meet with community leaders.

“I would like to reassure the community that we take incidents of this nature extremely seriously and detectives are working urgently to identify the suspects.
"If you have any CCTV, dash cam footage or information that could help officers please contact the police.
"Residents can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area over the coming days.
"We have brought in additional officers and would urge anyone with concerns to speak to them."

| GETTYThe Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, took to X to say: "I’m grateful to the Met Police for their swift response to the appalling attempted arson attack at Finchley Reform Synagogue overnight.
"The incident is being treated as an antisemitic hate crime, and there is an increased police presence in place in the local area.
"While thankfully no one was injured, the Met are urging anyone with information to come forward."
Police are urging anyone with information to contact 101, providing the reference 1685/15APR or anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The attack comes just weeks after the devastating attack in Golders Green, which saw four ambulances from Hatzola, a volunteer-led ambulance service, set on fire.
Hatzola - the Hebrew word for save or rescue - is a large non-profit, Jewish-led organisation that provides a free emergency medical response and transportation to hospitals by volunteer medics.
One eyewitness told GB News that she was "terrified" after hearing "four bangs" in the early hours of the morning.
Four men have been arrested following the attack.
