The “woke takeover” of institutions has been lambasted by a Conservative commentator who is calling for a “reversal of the tide”.

Salem Media Group’s Julie Hartman joined GB News’ Darren Grimes to assess the current state of play in the culture wars, and is despairing of how big companies operate in the current political climate.

Questioned about whether she is “worried” about the West’s future when it comes to the next generation, Hartman admitted she is.

“I lay awake at night worrying for the West’s future”, she said.

“My wake up moment was in 2020. Not only because of the draconian Covid lockdown measures, but also the Black Lives Matter riots.

“That fundamentally changed the US. The police were defunded, certain bail programs were abolished, radical race and gender ideas were suffused in American public schools.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

“We have witnessed a radical transformation of society. We need to understand the gravity of the moment.

“We are learning and becoming stronger in our principles, and hopefully we can reverse this tide.

“I’m sorry to sound alarmist, but we may not have much time left, we need to get to work.”

Hartman also took the opportunity to hit out at US President Joe Biden, who she claims has caved to “evil” regimes.

She believes Biden has become too dependent on “dictatorial” regimes as a result of his push for green policies, something she says was not so much the case with Donald Trump as leader.

“The United States was energy independent for several decades of the 20th century”, she said.

“Then there was a lull where we were not energy independent. Then we were again under President Trump.

“Now, with great rapidity, it has been reversed under the regime of President Biden, who is entreating to our adversaries.

“Dictatorial, authoritarian, evil regimes such as the Venezuelans, the Saudis, begging them for oil.

“How does that make sense?

“We hear that we shouldn’t drill because of climate change, but they’re drilling and they’re using slave labour to drill.

“So we shouldn’t drill in our own territory, but drilling thousands of miles away is OK.”
