A five year old girl has died after being hit by a lorry outside a school.
Humberside Police said the victim was riding a bicycle on Hopewell Road, Hull when a HGV lorry struck her at about 3.40pm yesterday, April 11.
Emergency services rushed to the area, however the girl was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, a spokesperson from Humberside Police said: "Officers are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Hull yesterday afternoon."

The spokesperson added: "We were called to attend Hopewell Road following reports that a HGV lorry and a child riding a bike were involved in a collision at approximately 3.40pm.
"Emergencies services were deployed but despite their efforts, the cyclist, a 5-year-old girl, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
"Her family are currently being supported by officers at this extremely sad and difficult time.
"We’d like to thank members of the public who came to the aid of those involved whilst emergency services arrived and for the support the wider local community has shown so far."

Flowers and teddy bears have been left in tribute at the scene outside Oakfield School.
A spokesperson from the school said: "Oakfield School is closed to staff and pupils (including offsite placements) on Friday, April 12 2024 owing to a serious incident involving a member of public outside of the school gates on Thursday, April 11 2024.
"Oakfield School will reopen to staff and pupils on Monday, April 15 2024."
Tributes were also posted on social media. One person wrote: "Can't stop thinking about this...absolutely gut- wrenching...my heart goes out to everyone involved ...RIP beautiful lil princess , sleep tight angel."
Another person said: "This is every parents worse nightmare r.i.p little girl. My sympathy to the family absolutely devastating."
A third user commented: "Heartbreaking for the family and friends of this little girl. My love and prayers go out to you all. Rest in peace angel."
