The comments follow reports that Harry and Meghan arrived at Farnborough airport yesterday afternoon, welcomed by an entourage of the Queen's close protection officers.

Arriving on a private jet to the UK from their California home, the couple were transported to their Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage, by bullet-proof cars.

A source told The Sun: "The Queen believed it was the right thing to do".

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex bundled into the bullet-proof vehicles, accompanied by their two children, Archie, three and Lilibet, one.

Prince Andrew and Meghan and Harry will not be present on the Palace balcony for the flypast, as only working Royals are permitted.
