The climate activist spoke about Tate for the first time since his arrest

Greta Thunberg has taken a fresh swipe at Andrew Tate, suggesting the businessman feels “threatened” by her.

The 20-year-old spoke about the controversial influencer for the first time since his arrest in December.

One of Tate’s final acts before his arrest was to get into a Twitter spat with Thunberg, after he bragged about his collection of expensive cars.

Thunberg said people like Tate feel a need to “silence” people like her.

“There are many, many problems in the world that people need dealing with," she told ABC News’ The View.

“But it seems like they feel so threatened or they feel like their worldview is so threatened by people like me - climate activists and environmental activists - speaking up that they feel like they need to silence us and mock us.

“That should be seen as a positive sign because that means we are actually having an impact.

“Otherwise, they shouldn’t be spending their time trolling us online.”

The Swedish activists spat with internet personality Andrew Tate consisted of her saying he has “small d*** energy” in response to his super car collection brag.

The tweet soon went viral, topping Twitter’s most-liked list.

Their online row continued, with Tate’s reply showing him wearing a robe and smoking a cigar, while sat with “non-recyclable” pizza boxes.

Days later, Tate was arrested with his brother on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group to exploit women.

His second appeal for freedom was denied by authorities, meaning the ex-professional kickboxer will remain in custody until February 27.

Prosecutors have said the Tate brothers recruited their victims by seducing them and falsely claiming to want a relationship or marriage.

The victims were then taken to properties on the outskirts of the capital, Bucharest, and coerced to produce pornographic content for social media sites that generated large financial gain, prosecutors said.

The pair insist they are innocent of all charges.
