Two teenagers seriously injured and major emergency response mobilised after pedestrians hit by car in Essex

GB News understands three ambulances, three Hazardous Area Response Team vehicles, a paramedic car and the MAGPAS [Air ambulance] and London Ambulance Service air ambulances were called to the scene.

The response followed reports of pedestrians injured in a road traffic collision.

East of England Ambulance Service Trust confirmed to GB News that two teenage patients were transported to hospital with serious injuries.

One, was flown more than 35 miles to the Royal London Hospital.

The second was transported by road ambulance to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.

Patients are typically only administered to Addenbrookes Hospital in exceptional circumstances, with both Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford and Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow being significantly closer to the scene.

GB News has contacted Essex Police for comment.

The incident marks the second major emergency response at the small village in recent weeks, following a fatal dog attack that claimed the life of 19-year-old Jamie-Lea Biscoe.

She was discovered with severe injuries at the property in Leaden Roding earlier this month and was pronounced dead at the scene despite emergency services' efforts.

Essex Police revealed the animal responsible was a lurcher-cross named Shy, which had been seized following the incident, with testing being conducted to determine the dog's exact breed.

Residents gathered at St Michael and All Angels church in the village, where they held prayers and lit candles in support of the family.

One neighbour said: "It's really tragic. I feel for the whole family. She was well-liked by the kids. We didn't know what happened until this morning.

"For all concerned, it's devastating. We feel for the family. We're still trying to process it. It has been a shock."
