Chelsea and England fan Charlie Naughton went to the pub last Tuesday with his dad and his friends to watch England V Germany.
He called his mum and said football was coming home and that he loved her. When Harry Kane scored the second winning goal, Charlie collapsed. Paramedics worked on Charlie for three hours but they couldn’t resuscitate him and he was pronounced dead.
The reaction to his death has gone viral on social media. England Captain Harry Kane played tribute, along with Mark Wright, Marvin Humes, John Terry and others.
Charlie’s family and friends called for people to raise a glass to Charlie on the 29th minute of the England v Ukraine game on Saturday, as Charlie was 29 years old and he died on the 29th June. Videos were shared all over Instagram and Twitter.
Now his family are calling for a minute’s silence before Wednesday’s match at Wembley, just a stones throw from Charlie’s house.
Our South East reporter, Ellie Costello, held the first TV interview with the Naughton family exclusively for GB News.’
