The trans-Atlantic allies are understood to have come to an agreement focused on accelerating the development of nuclear power, with President Donald Trump and the Prime Minister expected to sign the deal this week.

Campaigners are demonstrating against what they call “our Government’s choice to honour a man who is violating human rights in the United States and around the world”.

The group is composed of more than 50 trade unions, charities and interest groups.

It will also feature speeches from the new Green Party leader, Zack Polanski, as well as former Labour leader and Islington North MP Jeremy Corbyn.

Security concerns are heightened following the murder of Charlie Kirk, who was shot in the neck during an event at Utah Valley University.

He was a close ally of Mr Trump and has caused an outpouring of grief in the US, including from the President himself, who described the 31-year-old father of two as "Great, and even Legendary".

President Trump is due to stay at Windsor Castle this evening after he lands in the UK and will meet members of the Royal Family on Wednesday.

He is expected to touch down in the UK sometime this evening.

Speaking to GB News, security expert Will Geddes explained it will be a "monumental" security operation to maintain the American leader's safety on his three-day trip.

He told the People's Channel: "This is over the next couple of days, going to be a monumental security operation that is going to involve naming many different facets, especially at a time where we're having extremely volatile protests, and certainly in terms of the position of the United Kingdom on the world stage.

"The world will be watching over the next two days as to how well we secure President Donald Trump when he comes to visit. Windsor Castle has been very much fortified. Local residents are almost calling it a fortress.

"There are a lot of protests that have already started amassing around Windsor Castle in terms of security, not only is there Thames Valley Police with the support of the Metropolitan Police, but there are 1,300 troops that are going to be there and 120 odd horses."
