Brightlingsea Lido, along Promenade Way, has opened its doors this weekend, with a full-day of activities ready for swimmers.

But, in 2017, the pool came face-to-face with closure after Tendring Council declared the lido had fallen into a state of disrepair.
Nevertheless, volunteers saved the much-loved local site and restored it to reopen the following year.
