The protest is scheduled for next week

A protest has been planned outside the BBC's Broadcasting House after GB News exposed the broadcaster's branding of Charlie Kirk as "far-right".

Turning Point UK is organising the protest, saying in a post on X they "can't let them [BBC] tarnish Charlie's legacy with their lies".

GB News exclusively shared the BBC branding Mr Kirk as "far-right" yesterday, in a BBC Radio 5 Live bulletin.

The newsreader said live on air: "Huge crowds are gathering in Arizona for the memorial of the murdered far, er, right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk."

Turning Point UK added: "On the day of Charlie Kirk's memorial, the biased BBC falsely branded Charlie Kirk 'far-right' twice.

"In their monologue, they used an image of Charlie waving to outrageously insinuate he was a 'Nazi'."

Charlie Kirk founded Turning Point USA in 2012 at the age of 18.

The movement spread throughout the US and arrived in the UK in February 2019.

The protest has been scheduled for 6pm on October 1 by the group.

Commenting on the newsreader's description of Mr Kirk as "far-right", Free Speech Union founder Toby Young described it as "disappointing".

He told GB News that the BBC "should be more mindful of its duty of impartiality".

Mr Kirk was an ally of Donald Trump, who spoke at his memorial yesterday.

The 31-year-old was shot and killed while attending an event at Utah Valley University earlier this month.

Mr Kirk's widow, Erika, made an extraordinary speech at the service yesterday for the activist, forgiving her husband's killer.

She said: "I forgive him because it was what Christ did and it's what Charlie would do.

"The answer we know from the Gospel is always and always love, love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us."

Third-year college student, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, has been charged with Mr Kirk's murder.

Thousands were in attendance at Glendale's State Farm Stadium to witness Mr Trump, Mrs Kirk and Republican heavyweights JD Vance, Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, Robert F Kennedy Jr and more give rousing addresses in Mr Kirk's memory.

JD Vance, a friend of Mr Kirk's said: "He did so much more than tell the truth - he lived it. He lived his life well, he raised a beautiful family... any parent would be proud to have him as a son."

Mrs Kirk, who has now taken up her husband's position as CEO of Turning Point USA, finished her emotional address saying: "I love you, Charlie, and I will make you proud. God bless you all and God bless America."
