A British Airways pilot has been accused of secretly recording himself engaged in sexual activity with a blindfolded cabin crew member and sending the footage to a colleague in what had been described as a “virtual threesome”.
Tim Capron, 38, who joined the airline as a graduate in 2009, is facing voyeurism charges over the alleged taking of a photograph and two videos during an encounter arranged through Tinder in September 2021.
The court heard that Mr Capron allegedly sent the recordings to Steven Farnworth, another BA pilot whom the defendant described as his "best friend" from training and a "sexual partner" with whom he had previously engaged in threesomes.
Mr Capron, who told the Reading Crown Court that he is bisexual, denies the single charge of voyeurism.

Prosecutor Jane Davies characterised the arrangement between the two pilots as a "virtual threesome" during her closing speech to the jury.
She told the court: "The truth is that the sexual activity had been planned by the defendant. He made it clear to Mr Farnworth that there was to be some sexual activity that night, and he told Mr Farnworth he could expect some videos."
Ms Davies alleged that Mr Capron intentionally avoided seeking permission from the complainant because doing so "would have spoilt the defendant's and Mr Farnworth's evening, their plans of what I would submit was some kind of virtual threesome".
The prosecutor labelled the Oxford-educated pilot as "egocentric" and "selfish", stating that his approach to sexual activity centred entirely on his own preferences and gratification.

The pilot was said to have sent the material to a fellow flyer and 'best friend'
| PAShe added: "He made sure that the scene was set so it would be done, and it was to be done in secret; it was not to be done until the complainant was blindfolded, it certainly was not going to be done with her consent and knowledge."
The court previously heard that text messages appeared to show that Mr Capron had messaged Mr Farnworth on the evening in question and asked: "When I have got her blindfolded, is it safe for you to see a few videos?"
When Mr Capron transmitted a photograph to his fellow pilot, Mr Farnworth allegedly responded: "Fan dabby dozey."
A subsequent message from Mr Farnworth was said to read: "Don't get caught."

The complainant was said to have discovered the recording when her blindfold shifted slightly
| GETTYThe complainant was said to have discovered the recording when her blindfold shifted slightly, revealing a phone screen displaying WhatsApp with "squares" indicating media had been sent.
The woman testified on Monday that she was "taken aback" when Mr Capron began striking her with a paddle during their encounter, but said she "did not have a problem with it" and had been "happy" to wear the blindfold at his request.
Ms Davies said the complainant was "furious that the defendant might have recorded that private sexual act" after spotting the mobile phone.
When confronted, Mr Capron allegedly apologised and agreed to delete the recordings, telling her: "I'm glad you caught me, because I should not have done it."
The trial took place at Reading Crown Court | PAThe pilot now accepts the complainant did not consent to being filmed and acknowledges he never sought her permission, the court heard.
However, he maintains he believed she would have agreed, citing their earlier discussions about "whips, restraints and dominance" in messages exchanged before their September 2021 meeting.
The jury of seven men and five women commenced deliberations shortly after 3.30pm on Wednesday.
The trial continues.
