FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS:
In March, Hamza was denied compassionate release or a reduction to his sentence by a US District Court.
His lawyers have now put forward an 81-page appeal against the ruling - which is filed under his real name Mustafa Kamel Mustafa.
They detail how their client has been subject to Special Administration Measures which mean he can only talk to them, as well as certain members of his family - when recorded.
In the appeal, the lawyers claim he has been kept in a cell which is "designed for a person confined to a wheelchair rather than a person who can walk but has no hands".
"His stumps are sore and infected from the sharp edges of his faucets, he is unable to clean himself after bowel movements when placed in a cell which does not have a bidet," the appeal says.
"He is not permitted an electronic toothbrush, which has resulted in such substantial tooth decay and the need for dental implants."
The appeal further said Hamza relies on his teeth to open meals and carry out daily tasks.
It also states how his second eye is "also going blind".
The appeal also includes how Hamza went on hunger strike after he moved cells which "does not have ... a toilet for his disability".
The European Convention on Human Rights is also included in the documents which states had it have known he was going to serve his sentence under these conditions, he would never have been extradited from the UK to face trial more than a decade ago.
Judge Analisa Torresto rejected his bid in March, saying she was not convinced there had been a "change of heart" since his terror offences.
She also added that Hamza would likely continue to "support and inspire others to acts of violence" if he was released.
