Customers can double the value of their vouchers by spending them at Tesco's Reward Partners, experts have explained

Tesco Clubcard customers are being urged to check their accounts, as millions of pounds' worth of unused vouchers are set to expire on May 31, 2025.

Shoppers have just weeks left to use their vouchers before they disappear for good.

The supermarket has issued a warning to shoppers, stating: "Your Clubcard vouchers are expiring soon. Don't forget to use them on your next shop."

Once the deadline passes, expired vouchers cannot be reissued, meaning many customers risk losing rewards worth tens or even hundreds of pounds.

Clubcard vouchers are valid for two years from the date of issue. Any earned in mid-2023 will expire this month, leaving shoppers with only a few weeks to redeem them before they disappear for good.

Once 150 points are collected, shoppers receive a £1.50 voucher, typically issued every February, May, August, and November.

Many shoppers may be unaware that they have unused vouchers from 2023 still sitting in their accounts. However, there is a simple trick to extend their lifespan.

By spending just 50p from a voucher before it expires, Tesco will reissue the remaining balance with a new two-year expiry date.

For example, if a customer has a £10 voucher due to expire, spending 50p of it will result in the remaining £9.50 being reissued, giving more time to use it.

Customers can check their voucher balance by logging into their Tesco Clubcard account online or via the Tesco app, under the ‘Vouchers’ section in the Clubcard tab.

In-store shoppers can scan vouchers from their phone at the checkout, while online shoppers will see available vouchers automatically applied at checkout.

Tesco’s Customer Engagement Centre has reassured shoppers: "Lost track of where they are? Don't worry, you can find your vouchers in the Tesco app. If you're shopping in-store, just scan them at the till from your phone."

The value of Clubcard vouchers can also be increased through Tesco’s Reward Partner scheme, where they can be worth up to triple their face value.

According to Money Saving Expert: "You can double the value of your vouchers by spending them at Tesco's Reward Partners, such as Disney+, Legoland, and Pizza Express."

For instance, 500 points normally worth £5 in-store could be turned into £10 when exchanged with a Tesco Reward Partner. However, partner codes are only valid for six months, so they should be used promptly once claimed.

With the May 31 deadline fast approaching, Clubcard customers are being encouraged to check their accounts now to avoid losing out.

Tesco has confirmed that expired vouchers cannot be reissued, even if they are only missed by a day.

A quick check now — and possibly using the 50p trick — could make a real difference, allowing shoppers to extend their vouchers and save money on future shops or outings.
