Claire’s Accessories has launched £10 mystery bundles as it prepares to permanently close 145 stores across the UK.
The fashion jewellery chain, once a staple of Britain's high streets, is selling the surprise bags as part of final clearance sales before affected branches shut their doors for good.
The accessories brand, which previously attracted younger customers seeking affordable jewellery and ear-piercing services, entered administration this year and has now begun final stock clearances at branches destined for closure.
The chain's collapse marks another blow to Britain's struggling high streets, though a partial rescue has preserved some stores whilst others face imminent shutdown.
Bargain seekers have discovered these mystery packages during closing-down sales, with the contents remaining unknown until purchase.
A Facebook user shared their experience in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, writing: "Went to Claire's today and got a £10 surprise bag."
The shopper revealed disappointment with most contents, stating that "only two of the ten items were worth keeping" and planned to "try and sell or if they don't go, then charity shop it is."
Fellow bargain hunters offered contrasting views, with one responding: "For £10 my nearly 9-year-old daughter would love all of that!"

Modella Capital acquired 156 branches in August, preserving approximately 1,000 positions across the rescued locations.
The investment company's intervention prevented complete collapse of the brand, though 145 outlets remained outside the rescue package and now face definitive closure.
Joe Price, Modella's managing director, stated: "As a firm, we strongly believe that this much-loved brand deserves the chance to remain on the High Street in the UK and Ireland."
