Poundland has confirmed that another 14 shops will shut their doors by early February, pushing the total number of closures beyond 100 as the budget retailer continues its major restructuring programme.
The chain, which was acquired by investment firm Gordon Brothers for just £1 in June, narrowly avoided administration after securing High Court approval for its turnaround plan in August.
The company had been days away from running out of funds before the rescue deal was finalised.
These latest closures come on top of 19 additional stores already earmarked for shutdown in the coming months, with 57 having already closed by late September.

| GETTY / PAShoppers at the affected locations can take advantage of clearance sales offering discounts of up to 40 per cent across a wide range of products.
The reductions apply to homeware, grocery items, clothing and beauty products as stores prepare to close permanently.
A further 40 shops had previously been announced as clearing stock ahead of closure, with these shutdowns occurring where property landlords opted not to renew leases.
The company has been systematically targeting its least profitable outlets as part of efforts to streamline operations and return the business to financial health following its near-collapse earlier this year.
The high street has been hit with store closures in recent months. | PADarren MacDonald, Poundland's UK country manager, said: "We know how disappointing it is when we leave a store, but before we close our doors for a final time, we're determined to say goodbye by offering even more amazing value to customers."
He added that the special reductions in stores, combined with the retailer's everyday value proposition, would allow the company to depart from closing locations "with pride".
Mr MacDonald expressed optimism about the future, stating: "And when we close our doors, we look forward to welcoming customers to one of the hundreds of Poundland stores we'll continue to operate right across the UK.
"The recovery strategy extends beyond store closures, with Poundland overhauling its pricing structure to simplify the shopping experience for consumers going forward.
As well as this, the retailer is reintroducing straightforward £1, £2 and £3 price points for groceries across all UK outlets, with approximately 60 per cent of food items set at the £1 mark.
This simplified pricing approach is also being extended to general merchandise and clothing ranges throughout the chain going forward into 2026.
Once the restructuring programme concludes, Poundland expects to operate between 650 and 700 stores nationwide, down from roughly 800 at the start of the turnaround process.
The remaining network will form the foundation for the company's future operations.
