Kemi Badenoch has confirmed stamp duty will be scrapped if the Conservatives win the next General Election

Stamp duty is under the spotlight following Conservative Party leader's announcement that the Tories will scrap the property tax if they win the next General Election.

According to recent polling from YouGov, around 40 per cent of Britons believe the levy is an unfair tax, while 21 per cent believe it is fair charge for people to pay when buying property.

This latest intervention from Ms Badenoch comes as the Conservatives trail in the polls behind Reform and Labour with the party offering an olive branch to younger voters looking to get on the property ladder.
