Whilst Saturday and Sunday will see most stores operating their usual hours, Monday brings significant changes.
This long weekend marks the second bank holiday of the month, following the Early May break on 4 May, and coincides with the beginning of half-term for pupils in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Forecasters are predicting a heatwave, raising hopes for outdoor dining and barbecues over the extended break.
The majority of retailers will run reduced schedules on the bank holiday itself, with opening and closing times varying considerably between chains.
Customers are strongly encouraged to verify their local branch's specific hours before setting out.
Morrisons branches throughout England and Wales will welcome customers between 7am and 8pm, offering a 13-hour window for those seeking bank holiday essentials. Scottish stores are expected to maintain their regular schedules.
Tesco's larger supermarkets and Express outlets in England and Wales will trade from 8am until 6pm, though Scottish locations extend their hours from 7am to 10pm.
Smaller Tesco Express convenience stores will keep their standard times throughout the weekend.
Both budget retailers Aldi and Lidl have confirmed identical bank holiday hours, with doors opening at 8am and closing at 8pm.
Asda operates the shortest schedule among the major grocers, trading from 10am to 5pm on Monday, giving shoppers just seven hours to complete their purchases.
Sainsbury's will operate from 8am to 8pm, matching the 12-hour trading window offered by the discount chains.

Waitrose takes a more conservative approach, opening at 8am but shutting its doors at 6pm, in line with Tesco's schedule.
The Co-op stands out among major retailers by maintaining its normal business hours throughout the bank holiday weekend.
With over 2,500 locations nationwide, the chain's convenience stores will typically open at 7am and remain trading until 10pm.
Marks & Spencer food halls will begin serving customers slightly later than most competitors, with doors opening at 8.30am and closing at 6pm.

B&M, which attracts more than four million customers weekly, expects most of its stores to operate on standard or marginally reduced hours on the bank holiday Monday.
The retailer has not yet issued formal confirmation of its Spring Bank Holiday schedule.
During a typical week, the majority of B&M outlets trade between 8am and 9pm, with larger retail park locations staying open until 10pm.
