| PAGreggs’ share price has slumped to levels last seen during the pandemic in 2020.
With a price-to-earnings ratio of around 11, the stock looks cheap by market standards, and some investors say they have been buying in steadily this year.
The recent drop has not come out of nowhere. A shock profits warning in the summer shook confidence and raised doubts about the company’s management.
Greggs blamed the hot weather for weaker sales, but critics argue the business should have been better prepared.
Analysts say the new pub venture could provide a short-term boost to sales and help restore confidence in Greggs’ growth story after a difficult summer.
