Lloyds Bank, NatWest, Santander and Halifax are among the major banks shutting down branches in the months ahead with 163 locations to close for good throughout the rest of 2025 and early 2026.
Bank branch closures have become an "alarming" trend in recent years with 6,000 locations leaving the high street between 2025 and 2015, according to consumer champion Which?.
MPs have urged banks and building societies to ensure customers impacted closures still have access to physical cash services in the wake of these closures.
