GB News membership readers have been asked whether they think that the Royal Family should reveal more on Princess Kate's health

Princess Kate underwent an abdominal operation at The London Clinic, where she spent 13 days in January.

At the time of her surgery, Kensington Palace announced that the princess was unlikely to be returning to public duties until after Easter.

Since then, she has been staying at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor with her family.

On Thursday the palace released another statement on the Princess of Wales's recovery timeline.

The statement read: “We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant.”

It comes as the Prince of Wales unexpectedly pulled out of a memorial service for his godfather on Tuesday for “personal reasons.”

To avoid any speculation, the palace quickly announced that Kate was “doing well” in her recovery.

There have been no further details about Princess Kate’s operation, but it was confirmed to be non-cancerous.

In an exclusive poll for GB News membership readers, an overwhelming majority (78 per cent) of voters thought that the Royal Family should not reveal more about Kate's health, while just 20 per cent thought they should not. Two per cent said they did not know.

On January 17, the palace issued a statement asking to respect Kate’s privacy in relation to her medical information.

The statement read: “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate.

"She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.”

Kate’s last formal public outing was with the Royal Family on Christmas Day 2023.

Earlier this month it was reported that Kate joined her family for a half-term holiday in Norfolk but there have been no pictures of the princess since Christmas.
