As ever there is a circus around Donald Trump as his hysterical opponents continue to bombard his Presidential campaign with attacks. That isn’t new.
Shamefully, it shifts the focus in America away from the issues that voters care about.
But here’s the truth that you may not hear elsewhere: Trump’s campaign actually has tremendous momentum and he could well soon return to the White House as President.
The support from Trump from Republican voters is astonishing. He regularly records over 50 per cent support in the primary race from GOP voters.
In the first Republican vote, the Iowa Caucus taking place on 15th January 2024, Trump’s lead is currently smaller than it is nationally.
But the latest research still has him around a whopping 30 points in front of his nearest rival.
Republican voters are still incredibly loyal to Trump, despite the various controversies and constant media bombardment he faces.
The US polls currently put Trump in a strong position
ReutersOn the other side is US President Joe Biden, who it appears - despite his age and growing frailty - will indeed be the Democrat nominee with little sign of a credible campaign challenge to him from those within his own party.
So the prospect of a Donald Trump vs. Joe Biden 2024 rematch certainly cannot be discounted. Indeed as we stand right now, it seems fairly likely.
There is another wildcard at play here. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., having dropped out of the Democrat Party’s race, is now staging an Independent bid for the Presidency that could really shake things up.
Usually third party bids in America gain very little traction due to the formidable challenges that campaigns outside of the Democrat or Republican parties face.
However RFK Jr. is hitting levels of support in polls rarely seen from third party bids, regularly recording double digit support.
For instance a recent Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll saw Trump polling on 39 per cent and Biden on 33 per cent.
Kennedy Jr. wasn’t that far beyond though, hitting 19 per centwith a further 9 per cent undecided.
But the bottom line is this: The prospect of Trump winning the 2024 US Election is very real.
And this really will be a fascinating campaign to watch unfold.
