'Not pleased!' Christopher Hope gives key insight on the state of Sunak's future: 'Lost standard-bearer of the Right!'
GB News
In an exclusive video for GB News members, Political Editor Christopher Hope gives his insight on Rishi's government and outlines the future for the PM.
Asked by GB News Community Editor Michael Heaver about the mood music in Westminster, Christopher said: "So for every time there's a reshuffle, for every one MP who's delighted, there are two who are angry about it.
"That's a two-thirds of the party are not pleased today because they haven't got jobs in government or they've been kicked out of government and what they do over the next few weeks or months is interesting."
The GB News Political Editor explained how the right of the party had lost their 'standard bearer' with the exit of Suella Braverman.
He explained: "Will the right feel they are being looked after by Rishi Sunak. Don't forget he came to power with the support of Suella Braverman in October last year. They've lost their standard bearer of the right - that's a problem."
He added: "It does feel that the time of populist politics is at an end.
"You have two very similar COOs as Prime Minister and Labour leader. I wonder if the country wants that - they're a bit tired of politics."
Looking ahead, Christopher gave his assessment that: "I think a lot could happen in a year but it does feel to me that the year of populist politics is at an end with the with Jeremy Corbyn being suspended by the Labour Party, Boris Johnson leaving Parliament, Liz Truss no longer around.
"You've got two very similar operators, like CEOs, Chief Operating Officers as Prime Minister: Labour Leader Keir Starmer and Rishi Sunak.
"I wonder whether the country wants that?"
