Camilla Tominey reflects on her show

Camilla Tominey reveals EXACTLY what she thinks of the Tory election performance

Hello, it's me, Camilla Tominey, just reflecting on a really interesting show in the wake of the local election results, which, let's be honest, were disastrous for the Tories.

I did ask Mark Harper, the Transport Secretary, why he was on the ground and not the party chairman, Richard Holden, because he's the one who should be answering questions right now.

The most interesting part of the Harper interview was that he couldn't seem to give us a clear answer on why on earth Rishi Sunak didn't vote for Susan Hall in the London mayoral elections, even though he was entitled to, because he could have voted in his constituency of Richmond, which is in North Yorkshire and in London because his address is also Downing Street.

I don't know whether it's a kind of conspiracy or a cock up, but we didn't get an answer to that.

Pat McFadden, Labour's campaign co-ordinator, was obviously cock-a-hoop at being on the telly, able to do a victory lap on behalf of Labour, although we couldn't really pin him down on what they're going to do to try and entice more Muslim voters to vote for Labour.

Obviously that whole kind of George Galloway contingent of pro-Palestinian candidates is eating into Labour's vote in the same way that reform is eating into the Conservatives.

Spoke to Robert Buckland and Theresa Villiers, who were basically saying that the Tory party needs to have an appeal to Tory voters beyond the reach of Reform and others.

How they do that, goodness only knows. I mean, the Prime Minister is continuing with this. We're sticking with the plan, even though, as I said to Mr. Harper, 'the plan doesn't appear to be working'.

So it's difficult. But I thought at least I sort of have to be appreciative to Tories coming on after a difficult weekend because it would be easy to go and hide in a dark room and never face the light of day again.

But we had three conservatives in here who were quite happy to kind of face the music.

Can we talk about my Tric Award nomination next? Here you can find the story about all of us who've been nominated.

So it's not just me, it's also Nigel. It's also the breakfast team. So that's Stephen and Ellie, Eamon and Isabelle there.

Please vote for us because this is a public vote.

Please go on the website, tell your friends to go on the website and you go on to the Tric Awards website.

You can select all of the interviews you like best. The one that I want you to vote for is my interview with Alastair Stewart about his dementia diagnosis.

Spent the day with him and his wife Sal. Really moving, really emotional, but importantly really important for raising awareness of dementia, which is something that affects 1 in 3 people in Britain.

So please vote. Thank you very much.
