A skin care guru spoke exclusively to GB News about how women can boost circulation for fast results

Improving your skin is a journey, and any product or practice that claims to provide results overnight should be taken with a pinch of salt. However, it is possible to see quick improvements with the right skin care hacks.

GB News spoke exclusively to skin care expert and beauty industry veteran Vyvette Wyeth, founder of Activeskin, about her favourite practices for better skin "fast".

With more than 25 years in the beauty industry, she has learnt how women can boost their complexion "at any age" with affordable, accessible hacks.

Among other tips, she advised women to incorporate facial massage and gua sha into their routines.

Choose active ingredients

"You may be using an expensive serum, but it’s truly what’s inside that counts," the expert stated.

Yvette advised opting for "skin hydrating and repairing" ingredients to help "replenish and strengthen your skin".

She also encouraged women to invest in "a few potent antioxidant products for the ultimate protection".

The skin guru stated: "I love a good quality vitamin C serum to plump and protect in the morning with a skin-quenching hyaluronic acid treatment at night.

"This helps to keep the skin's moisture well topped up whilst bolstering your skin’s natural defence against daily oxidative stress."

Incorporate facial massage

"This is a great one to bring life back to the skin by encouraging microcirculation," the expert explained.

As well as being a great stress-reliever, its ability to boost circulation makes facial massage an excellent skin care hack.

The experts at Boots said: "It has the effect of increasing oxygen flow to perk up sallowness and dullness. As a result, you may notice that your skin looks bouncier, more refreshed and less fatigued right away, and during the following days, too (great if you have a special occasion coming up)."

To correctly practise this technique, "gently massage your face with upward motions to relax muscles and get the blood flowing."

Facial massage and facial yoga have become very popular methods in the world of anti-ageing skin care in recent years.

Many swear by it, reporting fast results when implementing the practices regularly for just a few minutes at a time. Indeed, one 73-year-old whose skin does not sag relies on a simple 10-second method to eliminate turkey neck.

Cool it down

For a quick complexion-booster, the skin care expert advised investing in simple but effective devices. While your hands can work wonders, the benefits of a dedicated facial tool should not be overlooked.

She said: "Facial rollers and gua sha tools can offer a little help and feel amazing on the skin when chilled. They can reduce puffiness fast, and help create a more sculpted facial appearance.

"This trick feels especially good in the morning or after a long day. Simply keep your treatment serum and facial device in the fridge so it's ready for use when you are, and be sure to work the face with gentle, fluid movements."

A 60-year-old who still has "smooth, tight skin" shared the face tool she "refuses to live without" - it's always in her bag.

There are plenty of expert guides out there for those who want to start using facial massage, either with their hands or dedicated tools such as gua sha and rollers.

It's important to use these practices safely and gently to avoid damage to your skin. According to the experts at Boots, a gua sha should only be used alongside a facial oil for "sufficient slip". It can also be helpful to use a facial oil with a facial roller.
