Green has become a 'universal favourite'

To assist with quick sales, Lucy Steele recommended trying out a "universal favourite" - the depth of which is a matter of personal taste.
“Using gentle greens in the home can help to give it a serene feel, again focusing on making buyers feel instantly welcomed and calm in the space,” the expert from paint company V&CO said.
Ms Steele continued: “Soft sage green is a universal favourite. It's visually one of the easiest colours on the eyes.
“It's instantly inviting, and in the right hue, it can make a room feel even larger if drenched in the space.”

The experts at Farrow & Ball echoed a similar sentiment, saying: “If you’re looking to bring life to your space, there’s one colour that always flourishes.
“Green paint is a lush and uplifting choice for every room of the house.”
However, Ms Steele mentioned that other colours, such as off-white and even garish colours, such as red, are not off-limits.
Soft, warm shades make a room look more inviting

When deployed as an accent colour, shades of red can “make a space feel more stylish, curated, and visually appealing”, she said, explaining that the hue “exudes confidence".
If paler shades are more to your taste, a “sellable” look boils down to soft, warm shades which make a room look “cosier and more inviting”.
“Look for whites with warmer undertones, like yellow and orange, which will give the room a creamier and warmer atmosphere, as opposed to true white, which can speak stark or clinical,” Ms Steele advised.
