The King's Foundation has been rocked by the resignation of its Chief Executive, Kristina Murrin CBE, who departed on Thursday evening after serving fewer than three years in the role.
Her exit shortly after Chair Dame Ann Limb's quiet departure in December, creating a leadership vacuum at the monarch's flagship charitable organisation.
The upheaval has left King Charles "profoundly unhappy" and generated "instability" within the charity's senior ranks, The Sunday Times reports.
Despite the turbulence, the charity issued a statement expressing gratitude for Murrin's tenure: "Kristina leaves with the sincere thanks and best wishes of the board and the wider leadership of The King's Foundation, having led the charity through an exciting period of expansion."

The organisation confirmed that efforts to find a permanent replacement are already underway.
Emily Cherrington LVO, who serves as Deputy CEO, has been asked by the board to take the helm during the transition period.
Murrin, who previously worked as a civil servant at 10 Downing Street, stepped down just weeks after the premiere of Charles's Amazon Prime documentary, Finding Harmony: A King's Vision.
Michael Jary CBE, Acting Chair of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, offered warm praise for the departing chief executive's accomplishments during her time at the organisation.
"Since her appointment in 2023, Kristina has done an outstanding job leading the organisation through an exceptionally busy time," he stated.

Jary highlighted her oversight of the charity's expansion into Australia, the establishment of a new Awards programme, and a comprehensive repositioning and rebranding initiative.
He described the production of Finding Harmony: A King's Vision, which had its premiere at Windsor Castle last month, as particularly significant.
"Her creativity and leadership have been transformative for the Foundation," Jary added, noting her success in attracting new supporters and global Ambassadors whilst spearheading 35th-anniversary celebrations.
The King's Foundation operates from Dumfries House in Ayrshire, its flagship regeneration project in Scotland.
The charity's mission centres on creating sustainable communities and improving lives through various global initiatives, including practical education programmes that reach more than 15,000 students annually.
Its core philosophy emphasises living in harmony with nature for the benefit of people, places and the planet.
The Foundation should not be confused with the King's Trust, a separate youth charity that His Majesty established in 1976 when he was Prince of Wales.
That organisation, formerly known as the Prince's Trust, was renamed following Charles's accession to the throne.
