PA / Office for Product Safety and Standards
The Office for Product Safety and Standards said: "The product presents a high risk of fire because some bathes have been found to have mixed fuse sizes.
“Some units are carrying a 5 AMP fuse which means there is a risk of overheating when the heater is on full power and damage could be caused to the plug/socket.
“The product does not meet requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc (Safety) regulations 1994.”
A statement issued by Home Bargains urged shoppers to check if they have purchased the affected batch codes.
“Only these codes are affected,” the retailer added. “The information can be found on the side of the heater close to the control panel.
“You can do this by taking a picture of this notice or by writing down the PO/catch codes listed above for reference at home.
“To obtain a full refund or if you require further information, return it to your local Home Bargains or Quality Save store.”
It comes soon after the Government issued an urgent recall of two Amazon products over risks of choking and fire.
Shoppers have been urged to refrain from using the items to avoid putting their safety at risk.
The products concerned are a magnetic toy and a cordless blower which could cause choking and fire, respectively.
