With summer now in full swing, plenty are hoping to look like a vision by the pool on holiday

The latest summer trend that has gripped celebrities and influencers alike is not free from pesky inconveniences.

Nevertheless, "poolside skin" has recently turned the heads of the likes of celebrities like Demi Moore, as well as those just looking to look sleek and dreamy by the pool.

The new vogue very much focuses on the desire to have the appearance of "sleek, shiny, glowy skin on any skin that's exposed" - as if you have just gone for a dip, and are now freshly submerged from the pool.

However, makeup artist Carmindy Bowyer (who goes by @carmindy_beauty on TikTok) has issued a stark warning to enthusiasts hoping to hop on the trend this summer.

'When you use cream stick shimmers or oil-based shimmers, you are going to destroy your clothes'

Talking to followers, she said that, although the look is "amazing", it is not without risk, explaining: "When you use cream stick shimmers or oil-based shimmers, you are going to destroy your clothes.

"If you're wearing any silks, any light cottons, any light colours, that is going to transfer and stain your clothes," the TikToker added, encouraging the use of a more lightweight product that won't permanently alter your clothes.

To get the glowy yet effortlessly chic look, makeup lovers often look to cover their body in a shimmery product, many of which are cream or oil-based.

As a result, these items can prove problematic when it comes into contact with your summer wardrobe - much of which is filled with light-coloured linens and cottons.

And, like any makeup stain, it can be a bore to attempt to get out of your clothes - if it doesn’t permanently damage the material.

However, the dangers don't stop there. Carmindy added: "And, God forbid you hug anyone, because you're going to transfer straight onto their clothes; they're not going to be happy."

To avoid this, use a fine, jet-milled powder formula to get the same look, but without the transfer issue.

Showing her followers, the artist used a large brush to gently pack powder onto the bristles and cover her collarbone in the shimmery powder, crafting an effortlessly glowy look.

Running to the comments, one fan commented saying that Carmindy looked "stunning", while another said she looked "gorgeous".

"You get the glow, you get that same beautiful lit effect. You get the amazing, poolside skin look with none of the danger," Carmindy hailed.
