Skin is constantly changing, often appearing thinner and less plump by the time women reach their 40s and 50s.
That's where make-up can come in and act as an incredible tool to help brighten the skin and highlight natural beauty.
But in order to get the most out of your application, it is important to adapt your routine with age, Laura Kay, Founder of Laura Kay London, explained.
She told GB News her top tips for finding the right face products, eye make-up, brows, and lips for those in their 50s.

Hydrating products will give your skin a glow

"Adapting your make-up and beauty routine with each passing decade is essential to look and feel your best. As the body’s largest organ, your skin undergoes significant changes over time.
"It becomes thinner, less plump, and loses elasticity. These changes mean the make-up techniques that once worked for you in your 20s might not serve you as well in your 50s or 60s."
Kay said well-moisturised skin will look the most youthful, so a good skin care routine and hydrating make-up products will work together to give your face a glow.
HOW TO LOOK YOUNGER
She said: "With foundation, hydration is key. Use a light concealer for dark circles and a hydrating foundation to smooth and plump the skin. Then, a touch of highlighter on the cheekbones and down the nose can lift the face."

- Buy the Estée Lauder 24-hour concealer for £22 — was £29 from Look Fantastic
Once your face is perfected, it is time to tackle the eyes and brows. Eyebrow hairs grow back more slowly with age, so they can appear thin through years of overplucking.
If this is the case, Kay recommended filling them for a more up-to-date look. For the eyes, a combination of light and dark eyeshadows will help define the eyes, while brightening their appearance.
- Buy the No7 eyebrow sculpting pencil for £9.56 — was £11.95 from Boots
- Buy the Benefit, precisely my brow pencil, for £24 from Look Fantastic
Kay continued: "Thin, sparse brows can be subtly filled in with a brow kit or enhanced with semi-permanent make-up. Use lighter shadows on the inner corners of the eyes and gradually deepen the colour toward the outer corners for definition."

Finally, the right lip shade will complete any make-up look. Avoid anything too dark or bold, as this can sink into fine lines on the lip and make them appear thinner and smaller.
Instead, pick lighter, more neutral shades and apply a hydrating lip gloss. This will give the lips more volume and complement any anti-ageing look.

Kay said: "Stick to sheer glosses or satin finishes in pink or peach. Define the edges with a subtle lip liner for a polished look."
