Hair loss is caused by numerous components, such as genetics, medical conditions, hormonal changes and lifestyle factors, including age and stress.

One hairdresser revealed three products that can fight hair loss and support growth.

Bevy Hinds explained on YouTube (@HairScriptsbyBevy) how the products "maximise hair growth" by improving blood circulation.

She said: "Blood circulation has two parts. There is vasodilation, which is the widening of blood vessels, so you get lots of blood flow, and angiogenesis, which creates more blood vessels. Using the right products will help you get thicker and denser hair as you have more areas for blood flow."

To support vasodilation and angiogenesis, individuals must focus on the "blood circulation to the scalp", which they can do with minoxidil.

Bevy explained: "Minoxidil directly dilates your blood vessels and delivers more oxygen to the hair follicles.

"Oxygen is very important because it helps deliver the nutrients to the hair through oxygenation. It gives your follicles everything."

A study published in the National Library of Medicine supported the hairdresser's position on minoxidil.

It said: "Minoxidil is a common medication prescribed for treating hair loss-related problems. It provides remarkable benefits to patients with hair disorders."

Caffeine is another product the hairdresser approves of as it increases "microcirculation", which helps hair stay in the anagen phase.

Bevy explained: "Extending the anagen phase increases blood circulation to the follicles, which is key to hair growth."

The hairdresser's favourite product for hair growth is niacinamide, which she described as a "game-changer".

She added: "It is going to improve follicle oxygenation, reduce inflammation, and reduce oxidative stress, which will support hair growth."

Another study published in the National Library of Medicine explained the effect of niacinamide.

It stated: "A study comparing the efficacy of adenosine and niacinamide in Japanese men with androgenic alopecia showed that 32 per cent of the niacinamide-treated participants showed a clear improvement in hair thickness.

"Our data suggest that niacinamide could support hair growth by preventing oxidative stress."

Another hairstylist spoke exclusively to GB News about the "tried-and-tested strategies" he recommended to all his clients who want to grow "thicker and longer hair that does not involve products".
