How often you wash your hair and the products you use can go a long way in helping you achieve more length, and there's an abundance of evidence to prove this.
TikTok users like Devon Kelley have documented impressive results they've achieved using inexpensive methods.
“If you want to make your hair grow faster and fuller than ever, this is the most affordable way to do that," she told her followers in a recent clip.
“I have tons of baby hairs, and my hair is growing like crazy. You definitely don’t have to spend a lot of money to regrow your hair, you just have to commit to the protocol."

The four steps Devon recommends implementing "immediately' if you're on a budget are scalp oiling, scalp massage, frequent hair washing, and microneedling.
“I oil my scalp once or twice a week using a blend that contains a high amount of burdock oil to strengthen the hair follicles and promote healthy growth, as well as nettle oil, which helps block DHT and prevent hair thinning.
“I think that was a big reason none of the other oils worked for me; they weren’t actually addressing the root issue."
Devon notes that, despite being counterintuitive, using the right kind of hair oil balances oil production on your scalp and prevents dandruff.
“You’re creating a healthier skin microbiome so your scalp doesn’t under- or over-produce oil," she explained.
She follows with a scalp massage to ensure the oil is well distributed and to encourage blood flow to the scalp.
“This strengthens hair follicles and supports growth. Then I wash my hair the next morning," she noted. “I wash my hair at least two to three times a week. Your hair won’t grow if your scalp is dirty."
When applying shampoo, it's important to concentrate the product on the scalp rather than the lengths.

It’s also widely advised to base your wash frequency on how much oil your scalp produces, as overwashing will dry out your ends.
“I do microneedling once a week,” Devon continued, referring to a treatment that requires a skin roller to promotes growth by stimulating the hair follicle.
In essence, the tool creates tiny wounds through the micro needles, which stimulate blood flow to the scalp.
This increased blood flow provides oxygen and essential nutrients to hair follicles, contributing to healthy growth.
