A TikToker has described five essential habits that turbocharged her hair growth

While hair growth feels painfully slow for those who want it the most, it is significantly influenced by lifestyle habits. One TikToker claimed she managed to grow her hair five inches in just two months.

Abby Syrus (@abbylicious) shared five key lifestyle changes that turbocharged her hair growth.

She explained: “I grew my hair five inches in two months, so if you want your hair to grow super fast, you need to be doing these five things.

“A few years ago, I chopped off all my hair and realised what a big mistake I’d made. I wanted to grow it back really fast, and I did. I literally grew it five inches in two months.

“I used [various] techniques and I swear by them. They’re my hair care non-negotiables, and if you want to grow your hair ridiculously fast, you should be doing them too."

Of all the five steps, Abby claimed hair oiling became the most important, and advises repeating the process every Sunday.

“I swear by this," Abby shared. “I do it every Sunday, and I genuinely think it’s the reason my hair grew five inches in two months and is now the healthiest it’s probably ever been.

“Oils are great for creating a healthy environment for hair growth by nourishing and hydrating both the scalp and the hair shaft. They also help reduce breakage and balance sebum production."

She continued: “If you oil your hair consistently for six months, your hair will look the best it’s ever looked - I can promise you that.”

While oiling, Abby recommends massaging the scalp to boost circulation.

“When you’re physically massaging your scalp, you’re awakening dormant hair follicles and sending a signal for them to enter the growth phase of the hair cycle,” she said.

Those willing to go the extra mile to enhance blood flow to the scalp can try dermarolling or microneedling, according to Abby.

“What you’re doing is creating tiny micro-injuries on your scalp with little needles, which increases circulation.”

She claimed these techniques alone will leave hair looking "50 times better" than before.

Her fourth piece of advice is to focus on taking vitamins that support hair growth and address nutritional deficiencies.

“My favourite hair growth supplements are biotin - which is essentially just vitamin B7 - keratin, and vitamin E. For me personally, taking zinc and iron supplements made a huge difference,” she shared.

The fifth and final tip on Abby's list of recommendations is maximising hydration through regular treatments.

“When I started addressing the dryness and breakage I was experiencing - by doing a hair mask at least once a week, in addition to oiling - my hair started growing really, really fast,” noted Abby.

She also highlighted the importance of avoiding damaging habits, such as heat styling, describing these as “major barriers to growth”.
