The exciting new addition has thrilled the supermarket's loyal fanbase up and down the country

Marks & Spencer has unveiled its latest culinary creation, combining the divisive spread Marmite with traditional British sausage rolls.

The new offering features outdoor-bred British pork combined with Barber's mature cheddar cheese and Marmite; together the flavour profile is a distinctly British combination.

Announcing the launch on Instagram, the supermarket announced the introduction of Cheddar Sausage Rolls with Marmite to its Foodhall shelves.

The announcement playfully acknowledged Marmite's polarising reputation with the tagline "they see me (sausage) rollin', they (lovin' or) hatin'", pointing towards the spread's famous "love it or hate it" marketing campaign.

The handcrafted rolls are wrapped in crisp all-butter puff pastry and topped with additional cheddar cheese. M&S has positioned the product as versatile, suggesting they are "perfect for picnics, picky teas, or just snaffling one straight from the fridge".

The retailer has made the new sausage rolls available immediately across its Foodhall locations.

The launch is the latest example of British brands experimenting with much-loved Marmite collaborations, capitalising on the yeast extract's cult following.

M&S faced its customers with the question "Will you be loving these or hating??" They further confirmed that the products can be found in your nearest M&S Foodhall now.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Customer response has been remarkably positive, with social media users expressing unprecedented enthusiasm for the unusual combination.

Meanwhile, one shopper declared themselves "dangerously close to eating the whole pack", while another simply demanded: "Give me 14 of them!"

Perhaps most surprisingly, the product has won over previous Marmite sceptics. "Can confirm these absolutely slap, and I was a marmite hater before I tried these!" one converted customer revealed.

Others described the sausage rolls as "elite" and "absolutely amazing". One particularly effusive review added: "These are, without a doubt, the best snacks I've had in a very long time."
