Shoppers flock to M&S to purchase adorable Colin the Caterpillar lookalike for Easter
The supermarket has launched a new sweat treat ahead of the holiday

With Easter around the corner, households are bound to be piling up on Easter eggs and treats, and M&S’s latest addition may be the missing centrepiece for your table.
Shoppers are rejoicing after the supermarket launched a new iconic Easter treat to “share the limelight” with Colin the Caterpillar throughout the holiday.
The Easter Lamb chocolate treat will join Colin in a brand new two-pack of rolls this month, currently selling for £12.
The chocolate roulade is braided with lashings of chocolate and topped with additional sprinkles to help ring in the holiday.

M&S said in a statement: “This year, Colin is sharing the limelight with his new friend Easter Lamb. This adorable pair are guaranteed to steal the show.
“Tuck into not one, but two, creamy, extremely chocolatey sponges doused in decadent chocolate and topped with Easter decorations, including an Easter nest.
“There may be one or two arguments about who gets which face and feet, and the new nest. Are you #TeamColinTheCaterpillar or #TeamEasterLamb?”
The duo have been available in stores since March 19, with more and more shoppers online catching wind of their launch on social media.
Colin the Caterpillar has been for sale at M&S stores for more than 30 years, selling for £8.50 a cake.
The cult favourite treat consistently ranks among the best-tasting supermarket caterpillar cakes around, beating rivals at Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Aldi for years.
Describing their iconic creation, M&S said: “Our Colin the Caterpillar is a British icon who’s been making birthdays magical since 1990.
“That’s more than 30 years of chocolate-covered, swirly cake goodness (and fighting over the white chocolate face).
“From his humble beginnings, these days Colin is a social media phenomenon with hundreds of thousands of followers has legions of celebrity fans and features in a whole host of Colin-tastic chocolatey and sweet treats across the Foodhall.”
A typical roulade will serve 10 people, but Colin fans can also get their hands on M&S’s Giant Colin the Caterpillar Cake.

The larger version serves crowds of up to 40 people and costs £45, with the option of having it personalised.
Shoppers also have the option of buying Connie the Caterpillar from M&S, which is decorated with sugar hearts and pink chocolate feet.
It comes shortly after the supermarket relaunched its Bourbon Cream Biscuits and Custard Creams.
The favourite biscuits have supposedly been made with "extra cream", but not many shoppers are convinced there is more filling.
