Cleaning windows can be easily overlooked but it can change the feel of the home

There are lots of cleaning products available that can get rid of smears and streaks on windows.

However, there are also plenty of affordable options for sparkling windows.

Speaking to GB News, chief editor from Unclutterer Ava Wilson shared some top tips to get windows to be proud of, including the best time to get started.

Using natural solutions and waiting for cloudy weather can make all the difference, she explained.

Ava said: "Mix equal parts of water and white vinegar in a spray bottle.

"Spray the solution onto the window and wipe it off with a microfiber cloth.

"Vinegar is a natural cleaner that can effectively remove dirt and grime."

While cleaning windows can help the sun brighten your living room, a cloudy day could be the optimal time to take on the job.

The expert continued: "It's best to clean windows on a cloudy day.

"The sun can cause the cleaning solution to dry quickly, leaving streaks on the windows."

The tools homeowners use while cleaning can also make all the difference to the results, Ava continued.

She recommended using a squeegee or a microfibre cloth.

"A squeegee is a great tool for cleaning windows. It helps to remove dirt and grime without leaving streaks," she continued.

"Microfibre cloths are excellent for cleaning windows as they can absorb a lot of water and dirt without leaving lint behind."

Finally, it is important to make sure all parts of the window are taken care of.

Ava concluded: "Don't forget to clean the window frames and sills. Use a small brush to remove dirt and debris from these areas."
