Several popular Easter eggs have been discontinued ahead of the holiday

A wave of disappointment is sweeping across social media after an Easter staple was pulled from supermarket shelves.

Mars confirmed it has scrapped its Galaxy Enchanted Eggs, dealing a blow to Easter chocolate fans.

A public outcry has taken place on social media after loyal customers noticed the confections missing from shelves.

The sweet treat, which features crunchy caramel pieces and a shimmery rose coating, was sold at most major supermarkets in the UK.

Disappointed fans aired their grievances on X, where one user posted: “@GalaxyChocolate are your enchanted eggs discontinued?”

Another quipped: “Not sure if they’re gone for good but it’s not good that they’re gone.”

Reminiscing how delicious the scrapped item was, one user wrote: “One of the creamiest egg selections ever and the portions size was always good.”

Another chimed in: “Absolutely flabbergasted that I have yet to see any Enchanted Eggs in the shops. I wait all year for those specifically.”

As news of the axe spreads, fans have been encouraged to pivot to an alternative treat instead.

A spokesperson for Mars told the Sun: “We can confirm that for the moment we have discontinued our Galaxy Enchanted eggs but for those Galaxy fans missing the treat you can find our Galaxy Creamy Truffle Mini Eggs in Milk chocolate or Hazelnut available.”

It comes as other confectionary companies are extending their range of chocolate eggs ahead of Easter.

Cadbury announced that they are launching two new products ahead of the holiday.
