Chancellor Rachel Reeves has called on drivers to make use of Labour's new Fuel Finder tool as petrol and diesel prices soar to their highest levels in more than two years.
The latest data from RAC Fuel Watch shows that drivers are now paying an average of 152p per litre for petrol and a staggering 181.2p for diesel.
The massive price rises since the start of the conflict in the Middle East have prompted campaigners to demand urgent action from the Chancellor to cut fuel duty.
The Chancellor has now urged motorists to use online tools, including the Government's Fuel Finder tool to find the cheapest fuel prices in their local area.
Petrol and diesel prices continue to surge in the UK in response to spiking oil costs, which recently passed above $115 (£85) again, further hammering motorists at the pump.
The long-awaited Fuel Finder scheme has been in place since the start of February, with petrol stations required to update the service with the latest prices, in addition to the unavailability of shortages within 30 minutes of a change.
Original forecasts from the Government suggested that drivers would be able to save between one and six pence per litre when using the scheme.
The service has been met with teething problems in the first weeks of being online, including incorrect fuel prices, long delays between updates and a lack of information from some forecourts.

In a bid to counter this, Chancellor Rachel Reeves will publish a list of some of the third-party fuel-price apps using the data, including PetrolPrices, RAC Fuel Watch, Confused.com and more.
The Chancellor said: "My priority is protecting family finances and standing up for drivers - and Fuel Finder puts power back into their hands.
"By giving drivers the information they need to see where fuel is cheapest locally, they can avoid being overcharged and continue to fill up as normal."
Ms Reeves also highlighted additional measures launched by the Government in recent months to protect motorists from high fuel costs.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
Petrol and diesel prices peaked at almost £2 across the UK in the aftermath of the Russian invasion of Ukraine four years ago | PAThis includes extending the 5p cut to the rate of fuel duty, taking £117 off energy bills from April 1, and introducing support for Britons facing higher heating oil costs.
Labour confirmed that it would make changes to the rate of fuel duty in the recent Autumn Budget, in a reversal of rules launched in 2022 following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Ms Reeves said the 5p cut would be reversed in three stages between September 2026 and March 2027, at which point the Government could decide to hike fuel duty in line with inflation.
Campaigners have urged the Government to slash the rate of fuel duty to help drivers as they deal with expensive costs at the pumps, including FairFuelUK.

| PAHoward Cox, founder of the organisation, said the Government should make urgent changes to protect motorists from further price hikes, as costs approach record-high levels.
He said: "The Chancellor and any sensible economist in the Treasury must promise to keep fuel duty frozen for the duration of this Parliament."
The Government has consistently promised to crack down on profiteering from major retailers and supermarkets, with the Chancellor and Energy Secretary Ed Miliband meeting with oil executives earlier this month.
Mr Miliban told bosses from Asda, BP, ExxonMobil and Shell that the Government would not allow "unfair practices" to harm millions of drivers across the country.
