'The Audi RS6 is a firm favourite among performance car enthusiasts, and rightly so'

A vehicle once owned by Prince Harry is going under the hammer for car enthusiasts to get their hands on with the Duke of Sussex being pictured in the car on his way to Pippa Middleton’s wedding.

Prince Harry’s old Audi RS6 is being offered for purchase for just £42,000 – more than half the price he originally paid for it in 2017.

The Prince reportedly took delivery of the 560bhp, four-wheel-drive, V8-powered estate car for around £91,350.

This was shortly before the Prince was set to marry Meghan Markle in May 2018 at Windsor Castle.

Although he only owned it for around 15 months, the Duke of Sussex covered roughly 4,500 miles, with the odometer now reading 68,000 miles.

According to Pistonheads, Prince Harry elected to have the car’s electronic speed limiter de-restricted, allowing for a staggering top speed of 174mph.

The RS6 is capable of accelerating from zero to 60mph in under four seconds, with the estate vehicle coming with factory-fitted optional extras.

Prince Harry was pictured driving the stunning Audi to Pippa Middleton’s evening wedding reception with his wife Meghan in 2017.

Matt Bird, Deputy Editor of PistonHeads, commented on the listing, saying the vehicle will be popular among royal fans and petrolheads alike.

He said: “The Audi RS6 is a firm favourite among performance car enthusiasts, and rightly so.

“Even with royal blood running through its fuel lines, this example is now available for less than half the car’s original purchase price.

“While most people would be forgiven for mistaking the RS6 as any other Audi-badged estate, the RS6 is genuinely capable of going toe-to-toe with most supercars when it comes to straight-line performance.”

The slick grey Audi has a full manufacturer warranty until May 2025 and a valid MOT until July 17, 2024.

Additional extras include Daytona Grey Pearl Effect metallic paint, a Grey Alcantara and leather interior with carbon trim and RS Sport suspension with Dynamic Ride control.

The private seller, based in Grantham, Lincolnshire, said he would be keeping the vehicle “if the garage were big enough”.

Drivers who doubt the validity of the vehicle can be reassured by the number plate – KX17 ZBN – which has not changed since it was first purchased.

The RS6 was previously sold in 2018 on Auto Trader for £71,900 by Derbyshire-based car dealership Overton Prestige.

While it was not confirmed who was selling the car, the company listing the car said they were “completely satisfied” that it had been used by Prince Harry.

Speaking at the time, Erin Baker, editorial director at Auto Trader, said: “17 reg and low mileage, so it begs the question, why is the prince selling so soon?... Maybe he's on the market for a bigger family car."
