Ford
The Blue Oval has announced a major recall of almost 1.4 million vehicles, according to new documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the United States.
It warned that a loss of signal between the transmission range sensor and the powertrain control module could cause the transmission to shift down into second gear.
If the car switches down into second gear without the driver anticipating, they could lose control of the vehicle, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.

The Ford F-150
| FORDThe recall states that this is down to "degradation of the electrical connections in the transmission lead frame", which is caused by thermal cycling and vibration.
In total, 1,392,935 Ford F-150 vehicles manufactured between 2015 and 2017 have been recalled.
The NHTSA states that dealers will update the powertrain control module software, with the remedy being free for all impacted owners.
Letters notifying drivers of the safety risks will be sent out at the end of April, although drivers are able to use their VIN number on the NHTSA website to see if they are affected.

More than 440,000 Odyssey vehicles are being recalled by the Japanese brand amid fears that a software error can cause the side airbags to deploy unexpectedly.

Honda confirmed that dealers would reprogramme the supplemental restraint system (SRS) electronic control unit (ECU) software or replace the ECU, as necessary.

The US division of the South Korean manufacturer warned that the driver and passenger seat belt anchors could detach in 294,128 vehicles.
If this occurs, drivers and passengers would not be adequately restrained in the seat, potentially causing more serious injuries in the event of an accident.
The recall impacts certain 2023-2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6, 2023-2026 Genesis G90, 2024-2026 Hyundai Santa Fe, and Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid vehicles.
