Manufacturing giant BMW has announced it will end production of one of its most iconic models, with the brand celebrating its legacy with a "Final Edition" version.
BMW has confirmed that production of the Z4 will cease in March 2026, after being on the market since 2002.
The open-top sports car has been a gem in BMW's crown for more than two decades, with enthusiasts praising the successor to the Z3, which launched in 1995.
The roadster was often referred to as the E85 Series and was manufactured at the BMW Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina.

BMW said the Z4 "set new standards with a torsional stiffness previously unmatched in the convertible and roadster segment".
A Z4 M Roadster model was fitted with the 252 kW/340 hp six-cylinder in-line engine from the BMW M3, taking the acceleration from 0-100km/h in just five seconds.
A second-generation Z4 was unveiled in late 2008 and featured a new hardtop that could be opened or closed in just 20 seconds.
The German automaker waited 10 years to produce another Z4 model, which will end production over the coming months.

To celebrate the legacy of the Z4, BMW will be producing the BMW Z4 Final Edition, which it suggested could become a "collector's item".
Customers have been warned that they only have a short window to order the Final Edition, which will begin in late January next year.
