Ford has been forced to recall more than one million vehicles in the United States over concerns that software and mechanical issues could cause accidents.
In documents filed with the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ford has recalled 2,345 vehicles as they could face a sudden loss of brake function.
Certain 25 F-550 SD, F-450 SD, F-350 SD, and F-250 SD vehicles are being recalled and issued with a "Do Not Drive Warning".
Ford states that the "brake booster pushrod retaining spring may not have been installed", which can allow the pushrod to disconnect from the brake pedal and cause a sudden loss of brake function.

Ford has been forced to recall more than one million vehicles over fears that issues could cause serious accidents
GETTY
If this error is present, the car could lose braking function while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
The vehicles could also fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 135 (Light Vehicle Brake Systems) and 105 (Hydraulic and electric brake systems).
Owners are being told not to drive their vehicles until they have been repaired, which will involve dealers inspecting and repairing the brake pedal assembly.
Owner notification letters were mailed on June 20, 2025, to inform drivers about the recall notice. However, they will not have to pay for any repairs.

FORDThe Michigan-based manufacturer confirmed that it was not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to the recall issue.
Recall letters sent to owners outline that the repair time would take less than half a day, although "service scheduling requirements" could result in the dealer needing to keep the vehicle for a longer period of time.
Dealers will provide a rental vehicle for their personal transportation while the vehicle is in the garage for repairs, at no charge.
It comes just weeks after Ford was forced to recall almost 1.1 million vehicles due to an issue with the rearview camera software, which can also increase the risk of an accident.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
The software issue could cause the rearview camera image to delay, freeze or fail to display.
The recall includes some 2021 through 2024 model year Bronco, F-150, Edge, and 2023-2024 Escape, Corsair, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 and F-600 vehicles, in addition to 2022-2024 Expedition, 2022-2025 Transit, 2021-2023 Mach-E, Lincoln Nautilus, 2024 Ranger, Mustang and the 2022-2024 Navigator models.
Ford said it was aware of "one allegation of a minor crash resulting in property damage" in relation to the issue, according to Reuters.
The NHTSA contacted Ford in January relating to instances of more than three dozen rear-view camera complaints on F-150 models from production years between 2021 and 2023.
Issues with the Ford Mustang Mach-E could see car occupants trapped in the vehicle
FORDAnother recall from Ford Motor Company includes almost 200,000 vehicles in which occupants in the back seat could become trapped.
Certain Mustang Mach-E (2021-2025) electric vehicles contain an issue where the electronic door latches may remain locked once the driver or front passenger exits and shuts the door.
When the vehicle has a low battery charge, it could possibly trap someone inside who is unable to use the inside door release handles.
A remedy is already available for motorists, as dealers will update the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the Secondary On-Board Diagnostic Control Module C (SOBDMC) software for free.
