Around 20 per cent of Ferrari's lineup will be electric in 2030

Ferrari has finally revealed details of its highly anticipated electric vehicle, ahead of an expected start of delivery at the end of next year.

The Italian brand's first electric car - the Elettrica - will be released in the coming years, with Ferrari choosing its Capital Markets Day to show the production-ready chassis.

While Ferrari confirmed that it would be doing a full reveal of the electric supercar next year, the Prancing Horse manufacturer has unveiled details about its new model.

The Elettrica will have a 0-100km speed of just 2.5 seconds, a top speed of 310km/h (192mph) and a staggering battery range of at least 530km (329 miles).

Ferrari said its new electric car is the product of a "radically new and innovative approach".

Each of the main components of the car has been developed and manufactured in-house, with much of the development taking place at its Maranello headquarters, near Modena.

The automaker said the Elettrica was the "culmination of a long journey of technological research", which started in 2009, when it introduced hybrid solutions into its F1 car.

This was followed by the 599 HY-KERS prototype in 2010 and the 2013 LaFerrari, before the launch of the 296 GTB, the brand's first plug-in hybrid.

The Elettrica will come with three driving modes available, including Range, Tour and Performance.

The unveiling of the electric Ferrari will continue in early 2026, with a preview of the "look and feel" of the interior design.

This will be followed by the world premiere when the Elettrica is expected to be revealed in the spring.

Commenting on the impending launch of the Elettrica, John Elkann, executive chairman of Ferrari, said the brand aimed to combine technology, creativity and craftsmanship.

He added: "At the same time, we are proud to announce the M-TECH Alfredo Ferrari, a pioneering educational hub here in Maranello that will inspire and train generations of engineers, technicians and innovators.

"These milestones reflect our deepest commitment: to our people, to Italy, and to ensuring that Ferrari remains unique."

It is not yet known how much the Elettrica will cost, although Reuters has suggested that it will set drivers back at least €500,000 (£434,475).

Ferrari plans to have a diverse product line-up by the end of the decade, with 40 per cent internal combustion engine vehicles, 40 per cent hybrids, and 20 per cent electric.

It also plans to launch an average of four new cars every year between 2026 and 2030 as part of its "uniqueness of offering".

Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari, added: "Ferrari's unique positioning lies at the crossroads of heritage, technology and racing.

"Our founder's teachings, his visionary spirit, his drive to audaciously redefine the limits of possible, and his deeply rooted passion for motor sport all continue to define who we are today and guide our ambitions for the decade ahead.

"These ambitions are reflected in each of the Company's souls and will be realised through the dedication of our people and the trust of all our stakeholders."
