Drivers will be able to get their hands on popular new models through an expansion of the Electric Car Grant, with another major manufacturer being approved for the scheme.
Hyundai has confirmed that its Kona Electric model is eligible for the Government's Electric Car Grant.
Motorists will now be able to save £1,500 off the new Kona Electric without having to fill in any paperwork or apply for the discount.
Every Kona Electric variant is eligible for the incentive as Hyundai and the Government look to increase the number of drivers behind the wheel of a zero emission vehicle.
In addition to the new £1,500 saving, some customers could see their advance payment drop to £749 when choosing a Kona Electric through Motability.
The Hyundai Kona Electric offers an impressive battery range of up to 319 miles, staggering charging speeds, allowing motorists to add 100 miles of range in just 15 minutes, and a suitable 65.4 kWh battery.
Ashley Andrew, President of Hyundai and Genesis UK, said: "Kona Electric's eligibility for the Electric Car Grant ensures that customers have access to a more level playing field when it comes to choosing electric mobility."
Mr Andrew added that Hyundai were aiming to make its electric vehicles as appealing to the largest number of drivers as possible.

In addition to the lower retail price and potential further savings from Motability, drivers can also save with "attractive" fleet offers.
Hyundai's fleet proposition is now available from £349 on a 6+35 month contract with 8,000 miles per annum, at a rate of just £38 per month.
Mr Andrew said the Kona Electric appealed to drivers through a mix of "high specification, long-range abilities and affordability".
The South Korean automaker has confirmed that it will keep the Hyundai Electric Car Grant, although drivers will not be able to use two discounts on the Kona Electric.
