Xpeng will look to launch a number of new models in the UK this year

A popular Chinese car brand has set out fresh targets to expand its presence in the UK after a successful first year in the new market.

Xpeng will be looking to launch several new vehicles over the coming months after a successful launch last year.

The Guangzhou-based manufacturer will expand its lineup of electric cars, as well as highlight its technological advancements to customers.

Chinese car brands, like Xpeng, have grown in popularity massively over the last 12 to 24 months, as drivers look to invest in affordable, low emission vehicles.

Jonny Miller, UK sales director of Xpeng, said the next 12 months were crucial for the brand as it eyes a further global and European expansion.

He said this would be done through expanding its lineup for customers, by offering them greater choice and new options.

Mr Miller said Xpeng would focus on "industry-leading smart functionality, technology, design and real-world usability".

2026 will see the debut of the new Xpeng G6, which has received more than 20,000 incremental engineering refinements to improve the overall performance.

Rapid-charging capabilities allow the electric car to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in just 12 minutes, while drivers will be able to travel around 332 miles on a single charge.

The new G6 Dual-Motor AWD Performance Black Edition will come equipped with twin electric motors that produce a combined 358kW of power, equivalent to 480 bhp, and 660Nm of torque

The G6 will retain the same price as the outgoing model of £39,990 for the Rear-Wheel Drive Standard Range model, £44,990 for the Long-Range variant or £49,990 for the Performance Black Edition.

Xpeng will also roll out the flagship X9 seven-seater, with the brand rolling out the electric vehicle as a "futuristic" option for families.

This is set to debut mid-year as Xpeng praises its "intelligent, all-electric long-range capability in a versatile but dynamic model".

Mr Miller continued, saying: "We will continue to grow our retailer network in 2026. However, this will be done strategically, focusing on locations convenient for our future customers.

"Therefore, we are specifically looking to appoint retailers in larger cities such as London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh."

Xpeng will further expand its lineup of vehicles later in 2026, with the Chinese brand in the "advanced stages of development for several new models".
