Bridgerton star, Regé-Jean Page has opened up on the latest rumour that he could be the next James Bond.
The frontrunner might replace Daniel Craig as the next 007 but is steering clear of intensifying any claims he will play the iconic spy.
In an interview, the 34-year-old actor says taking on the role isn’t something that has “occupied his thoughts” and that is he staying out of any speculation.

He said: “It’s a conversation people are having, and it’s terribly flattering that they’re having it. I leave them to it.”
When asked whether he would accept the position, he told Vanity Fair: “I have no idea. It’s not a thing that is fully occupying my thoughts.
“I’ve got enough on my plate at the moment. I worry about the work I have, not other people’s jobs.”
Page is not the only favourite for the job, and is joined by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who reportedly impressed producers after filming a “secret audition” in November.
And last month allegedly Taylor-Johnson sat down with Bond boss Barbara Broccoli.
Among other favourites is Happy Valley star James Norton who previously admitted his chances of becoming the next James Bond have increased following his performance in the BBC series.
Craig announced that he would be stepping down from the role following his fifth film Bond in No Time To Die in 2021.
During Page’s interview, he also addressed the reason he didn’t return to Bridgerton in his role as Simon Basset.

Fans were left disappointed when it was announced that he wouldn’t be returning to the Netflix series.
He said: “I signed up to do a job and I did the job and then I did some other jobs.
“That’s it. That’s the story.
“I wish it was more glamorous than that.”
