The former Strictly Come Dancing star bared all with her fans

Zara McDermott has shared that she had a scan recently following a health concern.

The former Love Island star, 29, shared a candid statement about her health in a YouTube vlog, detailing she had found something she described as "not a lump" under her armpit and was getting it checked.

Ms McDermott, who starred on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing in 2023, underwent a full MRI, with the precautionary check-up coming soon after her diagnosis of osteoporosis.

Speaking in the video, she commented: "I wouldn't say I’m massively health anxious as such. I'm not health anxious, I'm... Health-conscious."

She went on: "I also have had this tiny little, it's not a lump, under my armpit. I don't know if it’s like a gland or something.

"Anyway, I’m going to ask them to scan that and check it. I slept not that well tonight, so I am a tired girlie today."

Ms McDermott explained she and friend Daisy, who is likely her boyfriend Louis Tomlinson's sister, had decided to keep on top of their health through scans and checks.

"We were talking about preventative health and getting on our A-game this year, and we got onto the subject of these scans," she recalled.

"Both of us were like, 'Let's do it together.'"

As she sported hospital scrubs, she summarised the check-up as a "nice, clean, simple experience."

Back in 2023, Ms McDermott shared she'd be changing elements of her lifestyle after she developed early signs of osteoporosis.

The condition, which develops gradually over several years, weakens bones, making them easier to break.

In December of 2023, the former reality star was hospitalised in order to undergo treatment to heal a tibia fracture.

She shared at the time: "The good news is that there is some small evidence of healing! Yay!

"However, the bone surrounding the fracture is under a lot of tension/pressure… Whatever that means.

"Surgery is still an option, but I've opted for the most natural route, which is to try and help it heal on its own."

Elsewhere, Ms McDermott marked Valentine's Day with Mr Tomlinson over the weekend by sharing an affectionate tribute on social media.

The television presenter, 29, posted an image on her Instagram stories depicting the former One Direction star, 34, relaxing on a sofa while strumming his guitar, with a dog resting nearby.

Accompanying the photograph, she wrote: "Happy love day to my forever love."

The couple's romance began in March of last year and appears to be flourishing. They were previously spotted during a trip to Costa Rica in May, where onlookers noted they "couldn't stop snogging" throughout their holiday together.
