Schneider has been an outspoken critic of the current political climate

Comedian Rob Schneider has accused the woke mob of now going after dead people as they have now “run out” of alive people to “cancel”.

Speaking on The Dinosaur Hour with John Cleese, the legendary comedy actor concurred with Cleese’s statement saying people should not dictate “what people with a sense of humour can enjoy”.

Schneider has been an outspoken critic of the current political climate, saying comedy has to be approached in a more sensitive manner.

He asked Cleese: “Is there any real malintent? Have you hurt anybody? If not, it’s all open.

“If you know I don’t have a bad bone in my body and I say horrible things, you can laugh at it without worrying about it.

“It’s a way to crush dissent. The political nature is, anyone we disagree with we can only not laugh at them, we can destroy them.

“What is happening now is, they’re running out of people to cancel, so now they’re cancelling dead people.

“They’ll find something John Wayne said in 1972 at a graduation ceremony and go ‘you should see what John Wayne said’.

“You have a race to the bottom and who can destroy what and who gets a little brownie point.”

Cleese waded in by stating: “It is about that warm glow of satisfaction, they think ‘I’ve really put them in their place because they are bad people’.”

It comes amid a wider debate about comedy with the likes of Graham Linehan finding themselves barred from events as a result of personal views.

The Father Ted writer had an event cancelled at Edinburgh Fringe as a result of his views on trans rights.

The event, set up by GB News’ Andrew Doyle, aimed to deliver a platform for comedians who had been cancelled for sharing their unwoke views.

Schneider threw his support behind the comedy writer as the events unfolded in August by taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, and directly addressing the Edinburgh Fringe organisers.

He branded them the “death of art and comedy” in a scathing remark before adding “you have eliminated ‘Fringe’ and should rename your festival, The Edinburgh All The Same Safe S*** Festival”.

Bosses at the venue claimed they were uninformed about who would be featuring at the event and denied being pressured into the move by activists.
